We are pleased to announce that the EPIONI Erasmus+ KA1 project Educating Informal Carers was approved by the Greek National Agency IKY.
The project will offer training to board members of the EPIONI Greek Carers Network in effective management of EU funded projects. It will also facilitate the exchange of best practices by enabling study visits to various European organisations with experience supporting informal caregivers, such as Care Alliance (Ireland), Compagnie des Aidants (France), ANT (Italy), and Eurocarers (Belgium).

As part of the visits board members of the Carers Network will shadow staff to learn new ways to engage with the audience of EPIONI workshops and events, and practice new skills for planning and managing annual educational projects for informal caregivers.

Why is the project important?
The Educating Informal Caregivers project will enable us to build on our existing skills base and experience, and extend collaboration with other EU countries.
The project will kick-off in July 2018 and will run until July 2020.

We would like to thank all our partners for supporting our initiative and we look forward to a fruitful and lasting collaboration!

The members of the EPIONI association were welcomed by employees of the organization in the Programs department. The ANT organization supports people with cancer in every possible way through visits to homes by medical staff, as well as through provision of medicines, medical supplies and psychological support. There is nothing similar in scope and service in our country. More than 500 professionals work for ANT (doctors, nurses, psychologists, nutritionists, physiotherapists, pharmacists, health workers and office staff), supported by more than 2,000 volunteers active in fundraising act...

Study Visits in Italy and Brussels

In the context of the Erasmus+ KA1 project "Educating Informal Caregivers" I had the valuable opportunity to visit organizations in Italy and Belgium that represent informal carers and advocate for their interests. These visits allowed me to expand my professional network, make new contacts, meet colleagues from abroad who are new partners and learn from the practices of other European countries. During the visits,S I got to experience firsthand what it is like to support people in need with the relevant infrastructure in place. There were itineraries followed in Italy and in-house work done in Belgium according to the schedule of the respective partners. I believe that this program has strengthened the cooperation among the participating partners by permitting cultural exchange and meaningful social intercourse. I had the opportunity to get to know different practices for the support of informal carers applied in Italy and Belgium, which helped me to enhance my professiona...
