M embers of the Board of Directors of the association EPIONI, within the framework of the Erasmus + KA1 program "Educating Informal Caregivers", held in January 2019 a ten-day job shadowing in the organization ANT ONLUS https://ant.it/ , in Bologna in order to t gain experience and skills in support of informal caregivers and to be informed about ways to organize and manage programs. The members of the EPIONI association were welcomed by employees of the organization in the Programs department. The ANT organization supports people with cancer in every possible way through visits to homes by medical staff, as well as through provision of medicines, medical supplies and psychological support. There is nothing similar in scope and service in our country. More than 500 professionals work for ANT (doctors, nurses, psychologists, nutritionists, physiotherapists, pharmacists, health workers and office staff), supported by more than 2,000 volunteers active in fundraising act
In the context of the Erasmus+ KA1 project "Educating Informal Caregivers" I had the valuable opportunity to visit organizations in Italy and Belgium that represent informal carers and advocate for their interests. These visits allowed me to expand my professional network, make new contacts, meet colleagues from abroad who are new partners and learn from the practices of other European countries. During the visits,S I got to experience firsthand what it is like to support people in need with the relevant infrastructure in place. There were itineraries followed in Italy and in-house work done in Belgium according to the schedule of the respective partners. I believe that this program has strengthened the cooperation among the participating partners by permitting cultural exchange and meaningful social intercourse. I had the opportunity to get to know different practices for the support of informal carers applied in Italy and Belgium, which helped me to enhance my professiona
